Harmony For Ukraine (Movie Screening and Fundraising Event)

Several months into the invasion of Ukraine, I directed a documentary about Mrs. Rinna, my Odesa-born piano teacher, and her love for classical music, which has helped her deal with the tragic loss of life happening in her homeland. It is truly heartbreaking to hear how her friends, students, and relatives have suffered on both sides of the conflict–but I am also inspired by her courage and relentless optimism in such dark times.

In support of Mrs. Rinna and the people of Ukraine, I am hosting a film screening and fundraising event on Saturday, November 19, 7:00-8:00 PM, at the Cambridge School (12855 Black Mountain Rd, San Diego, CA 92129). I am partnering with Ukraine TrustChain to raise money for warm blankets that will be delivered immediately to refugees and vulnerable elderly. Each $10 ticket donation will pay for a blanket.

Ukraine TrustChain is a US-based non-profit that has funded the evacuations of over 47,000 from war zones in Ukraine. Their volunteer teams on the ground, feed and deliver humanitarian aid to about 50,000 each week.
